The Story
Woods to the Waves challenges players to experience two sides of Long Island disc golf in a single day: wooded fairways in the pine barrens and open coastal terrain along the shoreline. The event has become a favorite annual tradition by celebrating the landscapes that make the region’s courses unique.
The 2024 artwork draws inspiration from vintage beach culture, summer travel posters, and retro fashion illustration. Featuring a sunlit coastal portrait and warm seasonal colors, the design reflects the atmosphere of a Long Island summer and the transition from forest to shoreline that defines the event.
Created for the 2024 Woods to Waves tournament, this shirt serves as a commemorative piece for players, volunteers, and supporters who took part in another chapter of the event’s continuing history.
